Maasai Experience...

You can include this unique experience in your package: A two night stay in Monduli staying with Alais and his family.

 

They have currently 2 purpose built traditional mud huts for your stay. You will gain a good understanding of the maasai way of life, the difficulties they face and how they are changing and improving with Alais forging ahead with projects such as land for widows, education for all maasai children and of course educating tribes on illegal female genital mutilation.

 

Alais is one of the leaders and supports 11 villages, he is passionate about ways to improve and promote his culture. Alais will organise a welcoming ceremony with traditional dance and food.

 

You can also attend a clinic with one of the district nurses which is open to all the maasai, spend time with widowers on their land and seeing how this has enriched their lives. Help around the village with the cattle, do some teaching, jewellery making, even understanding traditional medicines and the way in which it has been passed down from generations. Alais is open to any requests you may like to explore also.

 

We will arrange transport to and from your accommodation, your food and a donation to the tribe is incorporated into the costs.
